Failure isn't the end of the world!!!!
Here are some survival tips for overcoming cravings....These work for me when I remember to do them!! Just keeping it real, folks!! Overcoming anything that has a hold on you isn't easy!! To truly make these survival tips work for you, you must first be aware of your problem.......Cravings like to creep up on you when you least expect them, when you aren't ready for them!! Be ready and aware, the best you can.. If you are on a weight loss journey like mine, you will be real busy and all of a sudden you are so famished, all self control goes out the window!!!! You must keep a state of awareness and preparation... I promise you will not be perfect at this!! That is why number ten is most important!!! Don't Ever Ever Ever Ever Give Up!!! If you fail, get back up and try again until you make it!!
Here is a run down of each survival tip:
1. Pray - just simply ask God to be strong in you and give you the power you need to get past the craving. Remember prayer isn't magic! Sometimes God has a bigger plan that we can't see. Sometimes He wants to help you with supernatural powers but sometimes He knows you need to help yourself or sometimes He simply knows you need to fail so you will remember that you are human and to be humble....LOL regardless remember your Creator is always there to help and always has your best interest at heart even if you don't feel Him.
2. Brush Your Teeth - there is something about a clean mouth that psychologically helps me not to put food in my mouth for a short time...
3. Look At The Clock....tell yourself you can make it for 10 minutes. Sometimes cravings are like waves and after a few minutes the craving leaves and life is good again!!
4. Chew Gum - just keeping your mouth busy works sometimes.
5. Drink Water - Water helps your body to heal itself, water is awesome for you and keeps you full as well. We will study the benefits of water in depth on a different Weight Loss Wednesday...
6. Did You Take Your Vitamins?- Vitamins and proper nutrition are vital to preventing cravings...everyone's bodies are different so you will have to study your body and figure out what you are lacking..this also is a deeper topic for another Weight Loss Wednesday!
7. Eat a Veggie! - Personally my body loves red bell peppers, so sometimes when I have a craving they satisfy me. I eat a lot of cucumbers as well.
8. Think a Positive Thought and Speak It - Keep your mind bombarded with your goals! There is a link between your mind and your actions, so occupy your mind with the changes you want to make then wait, it will happen. Speaking positive in the atmosphere gives power to your thoughts. God gives power to your words. Another deep topic for a later date! LOL
9. Drink Something Warm - this helps me, I don't know why but you can do the research if you like. It works for me sometimes..
10. DON'T EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER GIVE UP!!! You CAN do whatever you want to do.....
