My Teenage Years started in Roma, but quickly ended up in Owasso, OK. I hated to leave my friends in Texas but if I had not of left them, I would not be where I am today!! I remember being extremely bored, not knowing a soul in Oklahoma. It was a hot summer night and I was sitting on a rock fence just outside our modest apartment. Along walked a young blonde haired 15 year old. I was 16 and would have never given him a second look if I had of known his age, but he was tall and somewhat mysterious. If you know this young man, please don't tell him I said this because I would hate to ruin his bad boy reputation, but he was then and is now a sweet man. We started a conversation and next thing I know we are an item for the next few years.
We definitely came from different worlds, so our lives were interesting. My family was pretty much all about the church and his was not. We moved in together just out of high school and had a baby when we were both 18. Due to the differences in our two families and our immaturity we went our separate ways just before Sarah turned two. I actually left him and I really wish I hadn't, but God has a plan for all of our lives and after 24 years of barely speaking to each other, we are back together. We are able to enjoy our daughter together and our four grandchildren.
Rewind a little bit.....Mike was my world in my teen age years. We loved a lot of the same things. We always could talk for hours on end and still can. We spent every waking hour together. He worked nights and I went to school days. He would sleep while I was in school and then meet me after school. We helped run the local arcade for a while. That was fun. I have very fun and fond memories of spending time with Mike's family. His sister, Melony was one of my best friends and his other sister was somewhat younger but always felt like family to me. His brother Danny to this day holds a special spot in my heart. His aunts were always passionate and fun. I remember Mike's mom and dad would welcome the entire neighborhood. Anyone who was in need was taken care of. Mike's dad and sister, Melony have changed their address to heaven along with his uncle Byron and his grandparents and others, but they are definitely remembered fondly.
Even though there are many holes in this story, I am sure I you hang around long enough, I will fill them in. Basically my teen years in Owasso revolved around Mike. I loved him and I still do and I always will.
